Position

The VDP.Große Lage Grünhäuser Herrenberg vineyard lies on the Ruwer river and, along with Abtsberg and Bruderberg, is one of the three monopole vineyards of the Maximin Grünhaus winery. Grown on red slate soils, it produces Rieslings with an elegant structure, spicy-mineral character, and clear acidity, exhibiting both freshness and depth.

Grape varieties

Mosel Riesling is decidedly acidic, with fine fruit aromas, stimulating, light minerality and an excellent aging potential – and thanks to the balanced climate, the extensive steep slopes and a veritable patchwork of soil types, Riesling wine of the highest quality is produced, especially from the Mosel.

This is what Hannes says about the wine:Maximin Grünhaus – Riesling Herrenberg GG 2024

Most of the 2024 harvest at Maximin Grünhaus was lost due to bad weather – making this vintage almost a rarity. Pure concentration and elegance in the glass! The Herrenberg displays impressive structure, expressive fruit, and an acidity that is invigorating but never irritating. A Riesling that will appeal to both the Instagram generation and seasoned wine connoisseurs. Pairs perfectly with salmon, sushi, and other fish dishes.
