Description
The Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2024 from Domaine Paul Pernot is one of Burgundy's great white wines. Here, Chardonnay shows its particularly powerful and profound side: enormous concentration and a supple texture meet freshness, minerality, and impressive length.
The 2024 vintage presents itself intensely, without seeming heavy. Ripe peach, citrus fruits, and yellow stone fruit form the aromatic core, accompanied by white blossoms, subtle nutty notes, and a delicate smoky spice. On the palate, the wine is dense and powerful with pronounced richness and a lot of substance.
Despite its fullness, the Bâtard-Montrachet remains precise and energetic. A lively acidity and salty minerality give the wine tension and balance. The finish is exceptionally long and combines ripe fruit with citrus, fine spice, and mineral accents. A great Chardonnay that already shows its enormous quality, but its full potential is likely to unfold only after several years of bottle aging.
