Description
The Puligny-Montrachet "Les Pucelles" 1er Cru 2024 from Domaine Paul Pernot is a magnificent Chardonnay from one of Puligny-Montrachet's most renowned Premier Cru vineyards. Les Pucelles is located in the immediate vicinity of the famous Grand Cru sites of Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, producing white wines of exceptional depth, elegance, and expressiveness.
The 2024 vintage combines the typical precision of Puligny with remarkable richness. Ripe peach, citrus fruits, and yellow apple form the fruity core, accompanied by white flowers, fine spice, and subtle nutty hints. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and smooth, without losing any freshness.
A clear mineral structure provides tension and elegantly frames the ripe fruit. With some aeration, the Chardonnay gains additional depth, revealing subtle chalky, nutty, and slightly saline nuances. The finish is long, complex, and elegant. An impressive Premier Cru that already shows its class when young, but is likely to gain even more expression and complexity with further bottle aging.
