Description
The Frühlingsplätzchen is one of the finest and most elegant sites on the Nahe. The weathered slate and quartzite soils around Monzingen lend the Riesling an exceptionally precise minerality and an almost floating tension. Emrich-Schönleber interprets the site with enormous clarity and finesse – less through power than through precision and energy.
In 2023, the Große Gewächs is incredibly vibrant and focused. The Riesling appears crystal clear and taut, yet at the same time delicate and almost weightless in its character. Instead of opulent fruit, the Frühlingsplätzchen clearly relies on herbal spice, salty minerality and a very linear structure with enormous drive. It is precisely this mixture of lightness and intensity that makes the wine so fascinating.
The winemaking process remains deliberately puristic and restrained, so that the origin is uncompromisingly in the foreground. As a result, the Frühlingsplätzchen GG shows a very precise and terroir-driven Nahe style – mineral, elegant and with a long, vibrating finish as well as great aging potential.
