Description

The Bourgogne Aligoté 2024 comes from two small, north-facing plots in Auxey-Duresses. Sous le Châtelet covers approximately 0.24 hectares and has vines planted in 1932 and 1962. The second plot, Fontaines de Moule, is about 0.23 hectares and was planted in 1949. This means this Aligoté is based on exceptionally old vine material. The vines stand on clay-limestone soils, which, together with the northern exposure, favor slow ripening and natural freshness.

The winemaking process also shows the importance Pierre Vincent places on this wine. After a long and gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation begins partially in stainless steel. The wine is then transferred to used barrels, a small portion of new wood, and ceramic amphorae. It spends about twelve months in these vessels before the batches are blended and mature for another six months in stainless steel tanks.

This makes the 2024 far more than a simple Bourgogne Aligoté. Old vines, small plots, and an unusually elaborate vinification give it a special depth, while retaining the typical energy of the grape variety. A precise, exciting Aligoté that clearly demonstrates Pierre Vincent's standards already at the regional appellation level.

With the Domaine Pierre Vincent, Pierre Vincent has established his own winery in Auxey-Duresses after many years at Domaine de la Vougeraie and Domaine Leflaive. His approach is strongly characterized by precise work with individual parcels. The soils are cultivated and then greened, interventions in the vineyard are kept to a minimum, and all grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected.

Lemon, lime, and green apple combine with white blossoms, delicate herbs, and subtle nutty and mineral notes.
Taut and energetic with vibrant acidity and bright citrus fruit. A fine texture and chalky minerality provide additional depth, while the finish is precise, fresh and slightly salty.
