Description

The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2024 comes from only two small vineyards. Les Canottes near Corpeau-Puligny covers approximately 0.39 hectares and was planted in 1962. In addition, there are only about 0.075 hectares of Les Grands Clous Perrons in Meursault, whose Chardonnay vines date back to 1951. It is precisely this old vine material that gives a nominally simple Bourgogne Blanc remarkable substance and character.

Pierre Vincent places great importance on precise vineyard work. The soils are cultivated and then greened, plant protection measures are kept to a minimum, and the grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. The harvest time is deliberately chosen according to the physiological ripeness of the individual plots.

After a long, gentle pressing, part of the alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The wine then goes into barrels for malolactic fermentation and about twelve months of aging, with only about 15% new wood being used. This is followed by another six months in stainless steel tanks. This results in an exceptionally ambitious Bourgogne Chardonnay, where old vines, precise vineyard work, and Pierre Vincent's vast experience with white Burgundies come together.

With the Domaine Pierre Vincent, Pierre Vincent has fulfilled his dream of owning his own winery after many years at two renowned Burgundian houses. From 2006 to 2016, he worked at Domaine de la Vougeraie, then until 2024 he was at Domaine Leflaive. His own seven-hectare Domaine in Auxey-Duresses now gives him the opportunity to consistently apply his experience with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to small plots and old vine stocks.
