"Les Chenevottes" is one of Chassagne-Montrachet's most elegant Premier Cru sites, combining the appellation's typical depth with exceptional finesse and precision. The chalk and marl-rich soils lend the Chardonnay a distinctive saline minerality and a very harmonious, terroir-driven structure. Vincent & François Jouard deliberately interpret the site in a classic and restrained manner – with a focus on balance and Burgundian finesse rather than opulent power.
The 2023 Premier Cru shows itself to be particularly vibrant yet incredibly calmly structured. The Chardonnay combines fine ripeness with fresh minerality and a very clear, elegant structure. Despite its concentration, the wine never appears heavy or broad, but incredibly precise and ethereal. It is precisely this combination of Chassagne depth and fine elegance that makes "Les Chenevottes" so fascinating.
The oak aging remains subtle and exceptionally well-integrated, ensuring that the origin and vintage take center stage without compromise. As a result, the Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru displays a magnificent Côte de Beaune style – mineral, elegant, and with a long, saline-elegant finish.
