The 2021 Chardonnay Muri from Jaunegg presents a particularly calm and precise interpretation of the grape variety from Southern Styria. The Muri vineyard is characterized by barren soils and a cool microclimate, giving the wine a lot of mineral tension and a clear, elegant structure.
The 2021 vintage produced exceptionally focused and long-lived Chardonnays. The wine appears taut and profound at the same time, with a fine balance of power, freshness, and mineral clarity. Instead of opulent fruit, Jaunegg deliberately focuses on elegance, origin, and an almost Burgundian style.
The careful vinification supports the structure and depth of the wine without overshadowing the characteristics of the site. As a result, the Chardonnay Muri shows great precision, fine tension, and a long, harmonious finish with great development potential.
