The 2022 Chardonnay Sand & Schotter from Jaunegg combines South Styrian freshness with a calm, mineral style. The sandy and gravel-rich soils give the wine a clear structure and a fine tension, while the cool climate ensures precision and elegance.
The 2022 vintage is somewhat more powerful and denser than the previous vintage, but remains taut and balanced. The wine appears calm and focused, with a fine mineral line and plenty of balance instead of superficial opulence.
Jaunegg focuses on a reduced aging process with a strong emphasis on origin and clarity. As a result, the Chardonnay displays a modern, Burgundy-inspired style – precise, elegant, and with a long, harmonious finish.
