Description
The Kapellenberg is one of the most precise Riesling sites around Laumersheim. The chalky soils lend the wine a striking mineral tension and a clear, straightforward structure. As a VDP.Erste Lage (1G), the Kapellenberg stands for a particularly elegant and terroir-driven style.
The 2023 Riesling is taut and very focused. The wine appears lively and powerful, yet at the same time calm and finely drawn. Instead of opulent fruit, Philipp Kuhn deliberately focuses on chalk minerality, freshness, and a precise acidity structure.
The winemaking is deliberately restrained to ensure that the origin of the site remains clearly palpable. As a result, the Kapellenberg shows great drive, fine spice, and a long, dry finish with a cool, mineral signature.
