Description

Château de l’Étoile - Savagnin 2024 shows a particularly clear and elegant interpretation of this characteristic Jura grape variety. Instead of oxidative aromas and heaviness, the wine focuses on freshness, precision, and the mineral expression of its origin.

In the glass, the Savagnin initially appears rather restrained and straightforward. Bright apple and citrus fruits combine with white blossoms, subtle herbs, and a delicate spicy note. With some aeration, the wine gains depth and increasingly reveals its stony and slightly smoky side.

On the palate, it is dry and precise with lively freshness and a pleasant, grippy structure. The fruit remains clear and is accompanied by salty, mineral, and subtly nutty nuances. Aging in used wood provides additional texture without masking the freshness or the distinctive character of the Savagnin. The finish is long, spicy, and mineral-driven.
