The Ried Klausen is one of the most characterful Sauvignon Blanc sites in the Styrian Volcanic Land. The volcanic soils around Straden and the cool microclimate lend the wine an exceptionally precise and mineral style. As a 1STK site, the Klausen stands for clear origin character and a particularly terroir-driven signature.
The 2023 vintage is very focused and elegant. The Sauvignon Blanc appears taut and straightforward, yet profound and harmoniously structured. Instead of loud aromatics, Neumeister deliberately focuses on tension, minerality, and a fine, cool style.
Organic viticulture and reduced winemaking emphasize the origin of the site and give the wine a puristic signature. As a result, the Ried Klausen shows great precision, salty tension, and a long, complex finish with great development potential.
