Description
The Fahrlay Terraces are among the most extreme and barren parcels within the Marienburg vineyard. The grey slate terraces produce Rieslings that function less on fruit and more on pure minerality, tension, and structure. It is precisely this uncompromising, almost archaic style that makes the Fahrlay Terraces so unique.
The 2023 vintage presents an incredibly taut and precise Grand Cru. The wine appears cool, stony, and almost salty, with enormous drive and a vibrant tension on the palate. Instead of opulence or volume, Clemens Busch deliberately focuses on reduction, transparency, and origin. With aeration, the Riesling develops an impressive depth and calmness without losing its energy.
The vinification remains minimalist and uncompromisingly terroir-driven, so that the slate soils remain authentically perceptible. As a result, the Fahrlay-Terrassen GG appears puristic, mineral, and extremely long-lived. A Mosel Riesling with enormous precision and a long, vibrant finish.
