Description
The Felsterrasse within the Marienburg is one of Clemens Busch's most striking and elegant plots. The extremely steep slate terraces give the Riesling an intense mineral tension and an almost cool, stony precision. The site often appears somewhat more powerful than the delicate Falkenlay, yet remains equally clear and terroir-driven.
In 2023, the Grosses Gewächs is incredibly focused and profound. The wine builds enormous pull on the palate, but never seems loud or heavy. Instead of overt fruit, the Felsterrasse clearly focuses on herbal spice, smokiness, and salty minerality. With air, the Riesling additionally develops enormous calm and complexity.
The winemaking remains uncompromisingly puristic and minimalistic, so that the origin is at the unadulterated forefront. As a result, the Felsterrasse GG shows a very characterful Mosel style – precise, mineral, with a long, vibrant finish and exceptional aging potential.
