Description

The Chardonnay “Clos du Château” Monopole 2024 from Château de l’Étoile is one of the winery's most distinctive white wines. The grapes come exclusively from the historic, walled Clos directly at the Château. The higher and protected location ensures slow ripening of the grapes and preserves remarkable freshness.

The 2024 vintage showcases Chardonnay from a precise and mineral-driven side. Citrus fruits, green apple, and light stone fruit form the aromatic core, accompanied by floral and stony-smoky nuances. With a little air, the wine increasingly develops depth and a finer, smoother texture.

On the palate, concentration combines with vibrant freshness. A pronounced chalky minerality and salty tension run through the entire wine, while aging in used oak barrels provides additional creaminess. The finish is long, clear, and mineral-driven. A sophisticated Jura Chardonnay with a lot of personality and excellent development potential.
