Description
Ried Sulz is one of the most renowned Sauvignon Blanc sites in Southern Styria, known for a powerful yet very elegant style. The lime-rich soils and sheltered location provide great depth, mineral tension, and a precise structure. As a 1STK site, Sulz stands for clear origin character and great development potential.
The 2021 vintage produced exceptionally clear and focused wines. The Sauvignon Blanc appears taut and profound, with great tension and a fine salty minerality. Instead of expressive fruit, Gross deliberately focuses on tranquility, structure, and a terroir-driven elegance.
The reduced vinification emphasizes the origin of the site and lends the wine a modern Southern Styrian signature with almost Burgundian precision. As a result, Ried Sulz shows great finesse, mineral depth, and a long, complex finish.
