Description
The Kupfergrube is one of the Nahe's most distinctive volcanic sites, producing Rieslings with enormous tension and unmistakable minerality. The volcanic weathered soils around Schlossböckelheim give the wine a smoky depth, salty precision, and that almost stony energy that makes the Kupfergrube so unique. As a GG Reserve, Gut Hermannsberg presents the most uncompromising interpretation of this site – with additional maturity and enormous depth.
The 2020 vintage appears particularly taut and focused. The Riesling builds its power not through fruit fullness, but through structure, minerality, and a vibrating inner tension. Smoky spice, cool herbal aromas, and volcanic minerality intertwine perfectly, giving the wine an almost archaic precision. Despite its intensity, it remains incredibly clear and elegant.
The long aging period brings additional calmness and complexity to the wine without losing its freshness. As a result, the Kupfergrube GG Reserve 2020 appears monumental yet extremely precise – a great Nahe Riesling with a volcanic signature, a long vibrating finish, and exceptional aging potential.
