The Josef Fischer Riesling Smaragd Ried Kreuzberg DAC 2023 comes from the high-altitude terraced vineyard Kreuzberg in the Wachau, one of the winery's most exciting Riesling sites. The meager primary rock soils, steep dry-stone terraces, and significant temperature differences between day and night ensure particularly precise, mineral, and long-lasting wines.
The 2023 vintage produced Rieslings with great clarity, freshness, and elegance. The long ripening period allowed the grapes to mature slowly while retaining their vibrant structure. As a result, the wine exhibits a remarkable balance between concentration and finesse.
