Description
The 2023 Chardonnay Gloria is one of Kollwentz's great white wines and comes from the best limestone and slate-influenced sites on the Leithaberg. The combination of warm Pannonian climate and the cooling influences of Lake Neusiedl gives the wine enormous depth, but also precision and elegance.
The 2023 Gloria is particularly refined and focused. Despite its power, the wine never seems heavy, but rather taut, calm, and very harmoniously structured. The aging in oak barrels is perfectly integrated and supports the structure and complexity without overshadowing its mineral origins.
With Gloria, Kollwentz pursues a classic, long-lived style with a Burgundian signature. The focus is on balance, structure, and origin rather than overt fruit. This results in a Chardonnay with great elegance, mineral tension, and exceptional aging potential.
