Description
The Jesuitengarten is one of the most renowned Riesling vineyards in the Palatinate and belongs to the historic top sites around Forst. The combination of basalt, limestone, and colored sandstone gives the wine exceptional depth and striking mineral tension. As a Großes Gewächs (GG), the Jesuitengarten stands for uncompromising origin character and enormous aging potential.
The 2023 vintage is precise and at the same time incredibly complex. The Riesling appears taut and focused, but with aeration, it builds enormous pressure and depth. Instead of loud fruit, von Winning consciously focuses on structure, salty minerality, and an elegant, almost smoky style.
Maturation in oak barrels is part of the winery's distinctive signature and gives the wine additional texture and complexity without masking the origin of the site. As a result, the Jesuitengarten GG shows a powerful, Burgundy-inspired interpretation of Palatinate Riesling – profound, precise, and exceptionally long-lived.
