Description
Ried Klausen is one of the most precise Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in the Styrian Volcanic Land. The volcanic soils around Straden and the cool microclimate give the wine a striking mineral tension and an exceptionally elegant structure. As a 1STK vineyard, Klausen stands for clear origin character and enormous aging potential.
The 2007 vintage impressively demonstrates how excellently Sauvignon Blanc from this origin can mature. Over time, the wine develops enormous depth and calm, while remaining taut and precise. Instead of prominent fruit, today the focus is more on minerality, fine spice, and an almost Burgundian complexity.
Neumeister relies on organic cultivation and a very reduced vinification, so that the origin remains uncompromisingly palpable. As a result, Ried Klausen exhibits an exceptionally elegant and long-lasting style – profound, mineral, and with impressive balance.
