Description
The NOMIS Smaragd 2024 is Simon Gattinger's personal interpretation of a powerful, yet very precise Grüner Veltliner from the Wachau. The grapes come from selected terraced vineyards with barren soils and a strong Danube influence, which gives the wine its clear mineral structure and elegant tension.
In 2024, the NOMIS appears particularly focused and balanced. Despite its density, the wine never feels heavy, but remains straightforward and finely structured. It is precisely this combination of power, spice, and cool freshness that makes it particularly characterful.
Simon Gattinger relies on a reduced aging process with plenty of rest and precision, so that origin and vintage clearly take center stage. The result is a modern Wachau Grüner Veltliner with depth, a mineral character, and long development potential.
