Description

Château de l'Étoile's Chardonnay “Clos du Château” Monopole 2024 is one of the winery's most distinctive white wines. The grapes come exclusively from the historic, walled clos directly adjacent to the Château. The higher and protected location ensures slow grape ripening and preserves remarkable freshness.

The 2024 vintage showcases Chardonnay with precision and a mineral character. Citrus fruits, green apple, and light stone fruit form the aromatic core, accompanied by floral and stony-smoky nuances. With some aeration, the wine develops increasing depth and a finer, smoother texture.

On the palate, concentration combines with vibrant freshness. A pronounced chalky minerality and saline tension run through the entire wine, while aging in used oak barrels provides additional richness. The finish is long, clear, and mineral-driven. A sophisticated Jura Chardonnay with great personality and excellent aging potential.

Das erwartet dich beim Trinken

Lemon, green apple, and white peach combine with white blossoms, fine stony notes, and a hint of smoky minerality.
Concentrated and precise with vibrant acidity and a delicate creaminess. Chalky, salty, and stony nuances provide tension and accompany the long, clear finish.
Excellent with oysters, scallops, lobster, crustaceans, turbot, roasted fish, poultry, and aged Comté cheese.
