The Château de l’Étoile - Chardonnay 2024 is a characterful Jura white wine, focusing on freshness, minerality, and a fine texture. The grapes come from old Chardonnay vines from various plots on the estate, combining different soil structures to create a multifaceted overall impression.
In the glass, the wine appears clear and energetic. Fresh citrus fruits, green apple, and light stone fruit are accompanied by floral and subtly spicy nuances. On the palate, the Chardonnay initially seems taut and straightforward, but with some aeration, it increasingly develops richness and depth.
Aging in used oak barrels gives the wine additional texture without masking its freshness or fruit. A chalky-stony minerality and fine salty accents provide tension and lead into a precise, lasting finish. A distinctive Chardonnay that perfectly reflects the cool and mineral side of the Jura.
