Description
Ried Krois is one of the most exciting Muskateller vineyards in Southern Styria. The high-altitude vineyards with their calcareous soils and cool climate give the Gelber Muskateller an unusually precise and elegant style. As a 1STK vineyard, Krois stands for clear origin character and a particularly terroir-driven interpretation of the grape variety.
The 2021 vintage produced exceptionally focused and finely structured wines. The Muskateller appears vibrant and full of tension, yet at the same time calm and very clearly structured. Instead of loud aromatics, Maitz deliberately focuses on freshness, minerality, and elegance.
The reduced vinification emphasizes the origin of the site and gives the wine a modern South Styrian signature. As a result, Ried Krois shows great precision, fine spice, and a long, animating finish.
