Description
The Hallgartener Schönhell is one of the most elegant Riesling vineyards in the upper Rheingau. The high-altitude vineyards with their slate and quartzite-rich soils produce wines that are particularly characterized by mineral tension, precision, and cool freshness. Prinz's Grosses Gewächs interprets the site very finely and with a strong sense of terroir, more subtle than loud.
The 2022 Schönhell GG presents itself as open and harmonious, yet incredibly clearly structured. The Riesling combines riper fruit with saline minerality and a calm, almost floating elegance. Instead of power, the wine deliberately focuses on balance, fine herbal spice, and a precise arc of tension.
The vinification remains deliberately puristic and restrained, so that the origin is uncompromisingly at the forefront. As a result, the Hallgarten Schönhell GG shows a lot of finesse, mineral depth and a long, elegant finish with a classic Rheingau signature.
