Position
The vines for this wine come from a “true-to-type” vine planted before World War I, nestled between rocky outcrops and a river.
Steepest parcel in the Grand Cru vineyard Zeltinger Sonnenuhr. This site is rated in the highly regarded Prussian classification of 1868, achieving the rarely awarded quality class 1. The subsoil consists of blue-grey Devonian slate bedrock with a layer of flaky, weathered slate soil mixed with some humus.
Grape varieties
Known as the "king of white wines," Riesling is one of the highest quality and most versatile grape varieties. Thanks to the balanced climate, extensive steep slopes, and a veritable patchwork of soil types, Riesling along the Moselle River unfolds its full potential. Moselle Riesling is characterized by pronounced acidity, delicate fruit aromas, invigorating, subtle minerality, and outstanding aging potential.
