Description
"Vaudésir" is one of the most elegant and refined Grand Cru sites in Chablis. The steep Kimmeridgian limestone slopes lend the Chardonnay an exceptionally precise minerality and an almost ethereal elegance, which clearly distinguishes it from the more powerful Grand Crus of the appellation. Roland Lavantureux deliberately interprets the site with a strong focus on terroir, balance, clarity, and Burgundian finesse.
In 2023, the Grand Cru appears incredibly vibrant and energetic, yet at the same time calm and perfectly harmoniously structured. The Chardonnay combines impressive depth with fine chalky freshness and a very precise, linear structure. Despite its concentration, the wine never seems heavy or broad, but incredibly elegant and transparent. It is precisely this combination of Grand Cru depth and ethereal minerality that makes "Vaudésir" particularly fascinating.
The aging process remains deliberately restrained and excellently integrated, so that origin and vintage uncompromisingly take center stage. As a result, the Chablis Grand Cru shows a grand and very classic style – profound, mineral, with a long, saline-elegant finish and exceptional aging potential.
