Description
"Les Grenouillères" impressively demonstrates how precise and terroir-driven Petit Chablis can be. The higher-lying, limestone-rich soils give the Chardonnay a cool, mineral tension and a particularly fresh, straightforward style. Roland Lavantureux works very cleanly and terroir-oriented, which gives the wine significantly more depth and character than many classic Petit Chablis wines.
The 2023 vintage is vibrant and energetic, yet incredibly clear and harmoniously structured. The Chardonnay combines fine freshness with subtle spice and a precise, chalky minerality. Instead of opulent fruit or creamy maturation, "Les Grenouillères" clearly focuses on balance, tension, and classic Chablis character. It is precisely this combination of freshness and mineral precision that makes the wine particularly invigorating.
The aging process remains deliberately restrained, so that origin and vintage are uncompromisingly in the foreground. As a result, the Petit Chablis shows a very classic and elegant style – mineral, fresh, and with a long, salty-precise finish.
