Description
The Frankweiler Biengarten is one of the most elegant Riesling sites in the Southern Palatinate. The limestone and sandstone-dominated soils around Frankweiler give the wine a fine mineral tension and a very clear, precise structure. As a VDP.Erste Lage (1G), the Biengarten stands for origin, finesse, and a rather cool Riesling style.
In 2024, the wine is particularly lively and focused. The Riesling appears taut and juicy at the same time, with a lot of draw and a fine, stony freshness. Instead of broad fruit, Dr. Wehrheim deliberately focuses on elegance, precision, and a subtle herbal spice.
The vinification remains deliberately restrained so that the origin of the site remains clearly perceptible. As a result, the Biengarten appears very transparent and terroir-driven – with fine minerality, a clear acid structure, and a long, dry finish.
