Description
The 1000-Eimerberg is one of the most famous and steepest terrace vineyards in the Wachau. The barren primary rock soils and the exposed location above Spitz produce Rieslings with enormous tension, mineral depth, and a lot of character. At the same time, the cooler microclimate ensures an elegant and precise style.
The 2024 vintage shows the 1000-Eimerberg particularly focused and clear. The wine appears taut, energetic, and very straightforward, with a striking mineral vein and long finish. Despite its concentration, it always remains delicate and balanced.
FJ Gritsch highlights the origin of this special site in a very puristic way. As a result, the focus is less on the fruit and more on the structure, tension, and typical stony Wachau characteristics.
