Description
The Ried Kriewetz is one of Tement's most distinctive Morillon sites. The barren calcareous soils and the cool microclimate of southern Styria give the wine a taut, mineral style with plenty of tension and depth. As a 1STK site, Kriewetz stands for clear origin character and a particularly precise interpretation of Southern Styrian Chardonnay.
The 2021 vintage produced exceptionally focused and elegant wines. The Morillon appears calm and straightforward, yet complex and multi-layered. Instead of broad power, Tement deliberately focuses on structure, minerality, and a fine Burgundian elegance.
The organic cultivation and reduced aging in wooden barrels support the site's origin without overpowering it. As a result, Ried Kriewetz shows great precision, saline tension, and a long, harmonious finish with great development potential.
