Description
The IZ Reserve 2018 is one of Tement's most iconic Sauvignon Blancs, originating from the oldest, most lime-rich parcels of the Zieregg vineyard. The extremely steep slope directly on the Slovenian border, combined with coral limestone and a cool microclimate, produces a wine that uncompromisingly emphasizes origin and minerality. "IZ" stands for a particularly selective interpretation of the site with maximum depth and precision.
The 2018 vintage shows a lot of substance and composure, without losing tension. The wine appears concentrated and complex, yet incredibly taut and focused. Instead of aromatic loudness, the IZ Reserve clearly focuses on saline minerality, fine texture, and an almost smoky depth.
Tement works organically and with minimal intervention in the cellar, ensuring that the origin of Zieregg remains uncompromisingly central. The result is an exceptionally precise Sauvignon Blanc with a Burgundian character, enormous length, and great aging potential.
