Description
"Les Renards" is one of the most distinctive Grand Cru sites on the Corton hill, producing Pinot Noirs of immense depth, structure, and mineral tension. The chalk and iron-rich soils give the wine a powerful yet very precise style. Jean-Baptiste Boudier consciously interprets the site transparently and terroir-driven – focusing on elegance and balance rather than heavy extraction.
In 2023, the Corton shows itself to be particularly vibrant and energetic. The Pinot Noir combines juicy dark and red fruit with fine spice, silky structure, and a fresh mineral tension. Despite the concentration, the wine never feels heavy, but rather very clear and harmoniously structured. It is precisely this combination of Grand Cru depth and Burgundian finesse that makes "Les Renards" particularly impressive.
The oak aging remains subtle and exceptionally well-integrated, ensuring that the origin and vintage take center stage without compromise. As a result, the Corton Grand Cru displays a very classic Côte de Beaune style – profound, mineral, with a long, silky finish and great aging potential.
