Description
The Grünhauser 1G 2024 from Maximin Grünhaus showcases the classic elegance of the Ruwer in a particularly precise form. The steep slate slopes surrounding the historic estate impart a cool, almost crystalline minerality to the Riesling and that delicate, hovering tension that makes Ruwer wines so unique. As a VDP.Erste Lage (1G), the Grünhauser stands for clear origin character and a very terroir-driven style.
In 2024, the Riesling appears incredibly clear and vibrant. The wine shows much freshness and drive, yet remains delicate, light-footed, and elegant. Instead of opulent fruit, Maximin Grünhaus deliberately focuses on herbal spice, salty slate minerality, and a precise acid structure. It is precisely this combination of transparency and tension that makes the wine so characterful.
The vinification remains deliberately classic and restrained, so that the origin is uncompromisingly at the forefront. As a result, the Grünhauser 1G exhibits a very typical Ruwer style – cool, mineral, and with a long, elegant finish.
