Description
The Herrenberg is one of Maximin Grünhaus's most elegant sites and produces Rieslings that appear somewhat warmer and more open than the taut Abtsberg, while retaining the same classic Ruwer finesse. The red slate soils lend the wine a delicate spiciness, a silky structure, and a particularly harmonious minerality. In magnum, this style develops even more serenely and precisely.
In 2024, the Kabinett is incredibly finely balanced. The delicate sweetness is perfectly supported by the vibrant acidity, making the wine seem almost weightless. Instead of volume, the Herrenberg focuses on elegance, transparency, and a floating lightness that is typical of great Ruwer Kabinetts.
The magnum bottle supports the slow and particularly harmonious maturation of the wine. This allows the Kabinett to gain additional calm, depth, and complexity. An incredibly precise, classic Mosel Riesling with delicate slate spice, salty tension, and a long, elegant finish.
