Description
The Ried Grassnitzberg is one of the coolest and most mineral-rich sites in Southern Styria. The chalky soils and exposed high altitude give the Morillon a taut structure and an exceptionally precise style. The "Licht" (Light) line represents a particularly elegant and finely drawn interpretation of the site.
The 2023 vintage presents itself very clearly and focused. Despite its depth, the wine appears light-footed and calm, with a fine salty tension and an almost Burgundian elegance. Instead of power, Polz deliberately focuses on balance, freshness, and mineral precision.
The reductive vinification emphasizes the origin of the site and makes the Morillon appear very puristic. As a result, the Grassnitzberg Licht shows great finesse, clear structure, and a long, harmonious finish with great aging potential.
