Description
Ried Grassnitzberg is one of the coolest and most exciting sites in Southern Styria. The chalky soils and exposed high altitude give the Welschriesling an exceptionally precise and mineral style. The "Licht" selection represents a particularly fine, elegant interpretation of the site, with great freshness and tension.
The 2023 vintage shows the Welschriesling very clearly and focused. The wine appears taut and lively, yet at the same time calm and harmoniously structured. Instead of simple fruit, Polz deliberately focuses on structure, minerality, and a cool, straightforward elegance.
The reductive vinification underlines the origin of the site and gives the wine a modern Southern Styrian signature. This gives the Grassnitzberg Licht great precision, fine salty tension, and a long, animating finish.
