Description
The Hochgrassnitzberg vineyard is one of the premier Sauvignon Blanc sites in Southern Styria. The high-altitude vineyards, with their lime-rich soils and cool microclimate, produce wines of enormous precision, mineral depth, and clear structure. As a Große STK Lage (GSTK), Hochgrassnitzberg stands for uncompromising origin character and exceptional aging potential.
The 2022 vintage is powerful yet incredibly focused. The wine presents a tight and calm structure, with abundant saline minerality and a delicate, cool tension. Instead of expressive fruit, Polz deliberately prioritizes elegance, structure, and a terroir-driven style.
The reductive vinification underscores the site's origin and lends the Sauvignon Blanc an almost Burgundian character. As a result, Hochgrassnitzberg exhibits great depth, precision, and a long, complex finish with significant development potential.
