Description
Ried Grassnitzberg is one of the coolest and most precise Sauvignon Blanc sites in Southern Styria. The chalky soils and exposed altitude provide a striking mineral tension and an elegant, linear style. The "Licht" line represents a particularly refined and focused interpretation of the site.
The 2023 vintage shows Grassnitzberg exceptionally clear and calm. The wine appears taut and precise, yet very harmonious and profound. Instead of loud aromatics, Polz deliberately focuses on freshness, salty minerality, and cool elegance.
The reduced vinification emphasizes the terroir-driven character of the wine, clearly highlighting its origin. This results in a Sauvignon Blanc with great finesse, mineral depth, and a long, exciting finish with significant development potential.
