Description
The Zeltinger Schlossberg is one of the steepest and most striking sites on the Mosel. The sparse slate soils give the Riesling an extreme mineral tension and an almost vibrating precision. The "BÖMER" selection shows a particularly focused and profound interpretation of this site – uncompromisingly terroir-driven and with enormous tension.
In 2023, the wine appears incredibly taut and energetic. The Riesling builds pressure and intensity, yet remains fine, transparent, and almost weightless. Instead of expressive fruit, the BÖMER clearly focuses on slate minerality, herbal spice, and a salty, almost electrifying structure. With aeration, the wine develops additional calmness and enormous complexity.
Selbach-Oster deliberately opts for a puristic and very reductive vinification to ensure that the origin remains authentically in focus. As a result, the Zeltinger Schlossberg BÖMER displays a very distinctive Mosel style – precise, mineral, with a long, vibrating finish and exceptional aging potential.
